Bermuda is famous for more than just its namesake triangle and mention in a
Beach Boys song. It is home to a vibrant offshore financial center and is know
for its easy-to-reach beaches. The British overseas territory sits off the coast
of the United States, northeast of Miami, Florida, and is made up of nearly 140
islands. Of the 11,000 residents, nearly 30% are foreigners.
Bermuda's capital is Hamilton, while the old capital, St. George remains a
great historic UNESCO World Heritage Site. While in the country, check out the
maritime museum and those featuring fish and other underwater life. Local fish
is a popular menu item as well as rum-based drinks. Note that Bermuda is
generally considered more expensive than some of the far-flung Caribbean
islands.
